After reading post after post, regarding the decline of the United States from Liberals and Conservative alike, you would think by next summer, we are all going to be eating out of garbage cans, living in shacks made out of garbage like in other countries, our whole infrastructure will fail, and our lives and culture will more resemble the lives of people living in Laos, no more steaks for dinner, it will soon be "rat on a stick". At least thats the message I get from many posters on here. With all the negativity aside, are you as an individual doing anything to help stop the decline, and keep the USA one of the best countries around? I would like to know also for my own information to get ideas, as I feel that I could do more. Personally I was in the Military, I pay taxes (lots, I'm single) but dont complain, I vote, I work hard for my company, and volunteer in my community if the opportunity arises, and also donate to good causes. What are your ideas? Thanks.

The most important thing you can do is to educate yourself about economics and try to understand for yourself how the decisions our government is making can tear our economy to shreds. Once you understand, you can join me in helping to educate others. I also vote, and this year will be campaigning for Dr. Ron Paul, since he is the only candidate who seems to have a clue what economic policy is all about.

I am fighting for socialism in this country and that means equal rights for all including health care which is sorely needed! There is only one party that is pro socialism and that is the American Communist party and I am a proud member and we are working hand in hand with labor to promote candidates that are favorable to labor and civil rights. I suggest you all look into joining and helping us elect people that will bring this country back to it's promises in the Constitution.

It is stunning how much you have not learned! Did you ever notice any bull-shit in the way the government is run in America? Did you sense while you were in the Military a degree of unrealness in the stated mission? Did you go to school and witness teachers or instructors who hated their jobs? Did you ever notice any injustices in our world? Please, raise your hand if you have not witnessed the worst possible leadership in the United States in the last seven years. What can you as an individual do? What can we all do. Live simply : Put the credit card up, save your money, and invest in sound, liquid investments like CD or savings bonds. Then with the money you save, look for someone you know that really needs help and help them. Don't know someone, then its time to get out more and be neighborly. Also we can't solve all the environmental problems overnight, but we can all waste less and clean up more. Educate your self, and then pass that new knowledge along. Practice a healthy life style; exercise more and eat whats good for you. If you have a family, make family time, turn off the TV and have diner together. Image if 300 million Americans started doing this.
