Should I travel in South Korea?

Should I travel in South Korea?
I will be performing in Gwangju for a week in September and have a free roundtrip flight from NYC to Seoul. I am able to extend my return flight for as long as possible. I'd like to travel for at least two weeks after the show is done. Should I just stay in South Korea for a couple of weeks or head over to Southeast Asia? I am interested in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, etc. I have already been to China and think Japan is probably too expensive for me right now. I have friends who live in South Korea and tell me to not stay for too long, but I want to be open to SK. Any suggestions? much appreciated.

South Korea is a beautiful country, and you should spend a week there which will still give you a week to visit Vietnam or another country in Asia, it is not too far to Thailand or Hong Kong. I have enjoyed all of the countries I have been to in Asia.

well i would say you should visit japan but i doubt right now you would want to do that. I would say that you should at least really explore seoul because its a wonderful place travel all the way down to Busan(Pusan) and then you can see a whole bunch of places on the way down to busan. Also if im correct ive heard that thialand or was it taiwan is a wonderful place to go shopping many people from all over asia love to go there for vacations and shopping.
