Not sure exactly what kind of answer you are looking for but I'll give it a shot: Laos is a rather poor country and lots of the young people in Lao villages move out of the village to the city to find work. Laos is mostly buddhist with some animist beliefs and most boys are required to spend time in a monastery usually for school. Food is spicy. Laos is landlocked so trade was limited and the Mekong river is the most important body of water. In Laos it is totally acceptable to spit in public and a lot of mostly older people chew a seed that makes their teeth red. Laos grows coffee and makes beautiful silk products. Since it was ruled by the french a common staple is baguettes in addition to the local cuisine. I was in a Lao home which was a very basic cabin built on stilts. There was hardly any furniture and there was a television. The family required taking off shoes at the entrance. Laos is very beautiful and has some stunning caves. Hope I helped you out a bit!
