I live in the United States. I'm planning to travel to Laos to visit my fiancee and bring her here to the states first, then marry her. What's the best approach or documents needed to go through the process? Before anybody say something stupid. I didn't know her through the web. I just needs the steps with clear details to follow. I don't need comments about how bad it is to marry a women overseas.

If you are in love and want to get married, then get married. Once you get married, you can file a Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. Filing this form essentially means that you, as a United States citizen, are petitioning for your foreign national spouse to immigrate to the United States based on your lawful marriage to her. You are the ‘petitioner’ and your foreign national wife is the ‘beneficiary.’ Upon approval of the Form I-130, your wife will be classified as an immediate relative of a United States citizen. As a result, a visa number will be currently available for her to adjust her status to permanent resident. As a practical matter, when a United States citizen files a Form I-130 for their spouse, the form should also be accompanied by a Form I-485, Application to Adjust Status, and Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization. That way, there is no extra lag time between the I-130’s approval and the spouse’s ability to obtain work authorization and adjust their status to permanent resident. Right now, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (“USCIS”) is conducting a backlog reduction program. The program’s goal is to reduce the amount of time it takes for a person to become a permanent resident to approximately six months. As a result, if you accurately fill out and file all of the appropriate forms and provide all of the necessary supporting documentation, your wife should become a lawful permanent resident of the United States in approximately six months from the date of filing. To ensure everything is properly submitted, it is wise to seek competent immigration legal assistance with this process. Hope that helps :)

You need to file a K-3 (fiance visa) with www.uscis first. It takes roughly one year. It's a complicated and long process of getting the right documents and filling out forms.
