My cousin had a baby roughly 18 months ago she had a difficult delivery and her daughter was born paralyzed. They live in Laos where medical treatment is poor. They brought her to the neighbouring country Thailand for help. The doctors there took x-rays and saw that she had a whole in her brain yet they couldn't tell me exactly the name of her defect. Any ideas what the cause is and what could be done to help her daughter? I don't believe it is spinal bifida

Spina Bifida is a spinal cord defect where it protrudes out through an opening in the back. As for the hole in the brain, I am not sure. I looked it up and was unable to find anything dealing with a hole in the brain. But usually paralysis is caused by damage to the spinal cord.
