I heard the entry requirements may have recently changed for getting into Thailand, is this true?
I am currently living in China, and I will have obtained my multi-entry chinese visa by February, when I will be traveling. I will be flying into Thailand from Guangzhou, spending about a week in Bangkok, then going into cambodia or laos or something. My flight back to china is from bangkok, so i will be returning to thailand for a couple days again. What kind of visa requirements are there from the holder of a u.s. passport? Thanks!

The new rule is that if you entry Thailand by air you will be 30 days visa exempt, if you arrive in thailand at one of it's border crossings you will be visa exempt for 15 days. So you will have no problem at all. So just have your passport and be sure you have more than 6 months left before your passport expires and your good to go.

As a general rule, if you fly in by plane then you fall under the tourist visa exemption for 30 days. If you come over the border from a neighboring country it's 15 days, except Malaysia which is 30 days. Details at Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs below.
