Which is safer and better for an american expat to live in, Laos or Cambodia?
Which would be better for an american expat to live in for not over a month? Cambodia or Laos? I understand Laos is communist, but you can abtain visas which would let you stay for a certain period of time.

Cambodia I prefer. But the best of all is Malaysia.

The best place is the Philippines. Friendly english speaking people. Tropical climate with nice beaches and resorts. Best value for your $ in SE Asia. Easy and inexpensiveRetirement and Tourist visa extentsions up to 14 months.
