Russia enjoyed its height of influence, industrial, military and influential power during the Soviet era. During Lenin's time, before Stalin murdered Trotsky and corrupted it into an empire the spread of Communism in fact was well welcomed. It is not unreasonable to assume that if Lenin had lived longer it would have possibly taken the entire world. Also how would the West react if they implemented it properly, Lenin's intention to benefit and develop Russia rather than as an empire (Stalin's way). Given the West always encourages freedom, then surely Russia has a right to be communist if it wishes to but not necessarily imperialistic. Ask Vietnamese, Laos, Cambodia, N.Korea, Cuba about US invasions, its not always Communist nations that are imperialistic!
