debating time guys! whats your race? we are hmong, where do we live? america. but, heres the question. if you ask a chinese person what they are. they'll say " han/cato chinese american" correct? to get specific, they will state their ethnic group then chinese then american, since they live in america. han=ethnic group, china=where their people orignated from, and america = where they live currently. hmong is ALSO a ethnic group of china so wont it also be hmong = ethnic group, china = where our people originated from, and america = where we live. - hmong chinese american? heres a counter argument, some chinese people ALSO ran and lived in laos, thailand. and currently live in america.they consider themselfs han/cato chinese american still. hmong or miaozu is also considered a language among the 55 other languages in china. i really dont know what ya'll say, but i think we are considered chinese too!

My hmong freind considers himself chinese even though he was born in Vietnam. He bases his answer on the fact that he learned chinese from his parents, practices chinese customs, and says chinese/vietnamese people look different than other ethnic groups. I guess it's sort of like how some italians that lived in the U.S. for many years still consider themselves italians.
